Entry for December 12, 2006 --Something Political !!!
I myself am not very interested in political matters
due to my rather safe and comfortable environment,
but many people on earth are not as fortunate as I am.
One of my 360friends,
Mojtaba,
a 20-year-old student in Iran, recently posted a blog about
Jimmy Carter and his latest book.
I think that although we are busily planning and preparing
for the upcoming big festivals in our joyful world,
we should nevertheless have a look at this article and really give it a thought....
Let's do something constructive for a more peaceful world.

Entry for Entry for December 13, 2006 --My New Avatar
I was asked where the pic of my new avatar was taken.
I really do not like the way I looked in that pic but I loved the background,
therefore allow me NOT to enlarge the picture here
although the background is absolutely beautiful.
That white European style of building is our Government House.
This pic was taken during the weekend of the bloodless coup in September 2006,
after we finished photographing our friendly soldiers.
Please see my earlier
blog here.
On that day the square in front of me was so pacted with cars and people who came to take pictures.
Usually it is rather empty but that day traffic jam was as terrible as a normal working day.
I remembered everyone had a smile on his/her face and many had cameras.
For more info of history and details of our Government House,
I am sorry I myself know so little about this.
I might do some research and post it in my future blog,
but I cannot promise anything here....

Entry for Entry for December 14, 2006 --Avatar Background
This is the info of the elegant building in the background of my avatar.
Officially the building is called the Ananta Samakom Throne Hall ( in Thai:
พระที่นั่งอนันตสมาคม
-- I hope the letters show on your computer!!
),
which was a former royal residence.
Later it became our first parliament building until 1974.
Let me quote from Wikipedia:
"It was built during 1907 - 1915
by the Italian architects Annibale Rigotti and Mario Tamagno.
Next to the building is the Suan Amporn park,
and across the street the Dusit Zoo.
The vast space in front of Ananta Samakom Throne Hall is The Royal Plaza.
At the middle of the plaza is the Equestrian Statue of King Chulalongkorn."
The statue mentioned is a well-known place for the Thais to commemorate our beloved former King.
The places mentioned above are in Dusit district of Bangkok.
See the page in Wikipedia
here.
The above pic was taken by Ahoerstemeier in 2001.
You can see the larger pic
here.

Note on Dec-9-2010:
Just in case the Thai font in the above did not show up on your monitor,
here is the screenshot of it:
