Entry for October 07, 2006 -- Maps of Wars - A Good Site !!!
"Maps of Wars"
Would you be interested to have a quick look
of 5000 years of history in just 90 seconds?
I got a wonderful site from one of my Yahoo groups.
On the page it says:
"Who has controlled the Middle East over the course of history?
Pretty much everyone. Egyptians, Turks, Jews, Romans,
Arabs, Greeks, Persians, Europeans...the list goes on.
Who will control the Middle East today?
That is a much bigger question."
Ever heard of these?
- Kingdom of Egypt - Hittite Empire - Kingdom of Israel
- Kingdom of Judea - Assyrian Empire - Babylonian Empire
- Persian Empire - Macedonian Empire - Roman Empire
- Byzantine Empire - Sassanid Empire - The Caliphate
- The Crusader's Kingdom - Saladin's Empire - Mongol Empire
- Ottoman Empire - European Colonialism - Nation-States
- Era of Independence (1923 - 1970)
The wars have never really ended.
I am not sure how I can put a flash presentation to my blog
therefore I will just put the link here:
Maps of Wars!!!
Enjoy!!!!

Entry for October 08, 2006 -- Basic HTML !!!!
I posted the following at my 360_Help group yesterday.
I would like to share it with my friends who still cannot understand HTML.
It is not intended for those that are already good at computers.
Nevertheless
it might also be good for these experts' parents &/or grandparents.
http://www.pageresource.com/html
I came across this site and found it VERY USEFUL.
I NEVER learned any computer programming before but after a few
hours of reading the pages at this site I COULD edit my older blog by
changing codes when the page was set to "VIEW HTML". The jargon
cannot scare me anymore! I could delete excessive underlines, I could
change font size and colors, I could change the name of the link, and I
could make long lines shorter. All these I just learned in one afternoon,
and I am NOT a genius with very high IQ. (I cannot even drive an ordinary
car!) I encourage everyone that has no knowledge of software languages
go to this site and have fun!
NOTE:
Except for the article above that I cut-paste from group,
I did all these editing for this blog
ONLY IN THIS BLOG COMPOSE BOX !!!
I viewed HTML source and made some changes right here!
And all the tricks were learned only yesterday.
It took me merely
one afternoon!!!
If I can do it, YOU can do it, too!
* Remarks:
The codes were modified on Dec-2-2010
replacing <font size="?"> with <span style="font-size:x
pt; line-height:y
em; ...;">
and <hr> with <span style="border-bottom:1px solid black;">.
Entry for October 09, 2006 -- A little trick with HTML !!!!
A little trick with HTML !!!
I got this image from LammyOsity.
You can add a counter to your blog, too!
Thanks to mr tigercub who told me about this site.
* Remarks on Dec-2-2010:
The counter stopped working long ago. What is left here is just a picture.

Did God Create Evil?
The university professor challenged his students with this question:
"Did God create everything that exists?"
A student bravely replied, "Yes, he did!"
"God created everything?" the professor asked.
"Yes sir," the student replied.
The professor answered, "If God created everything, then God created evil.
Since evil exists, and according to the principal that our works define who we are, then God is evil."
The professor was quite pleased with himself and boasted to the students
that he had proven once more that the Christian faith was a myth.
Another student raised his hand and said, "Can I ask you a question professor?"
"Of course," replied the professor.
The student stood up and asked, "Professor, does cold exist?"
The professor replied, "Of course it exists. Have you never been cold?"
The students snickered at the young man's question.
The young man replied, "In fact sir, cold does not exist.
According to the laws of physics, what we consider cold is in reality the absence of heat.
Everybody or object is susceptible to study when it has or transmits energy, and heat is
what makes a body or matter have or transmit energy.
Absolute zero (-460°F) is the total absence of heat. Cold does not exist.
We have created this word to describe how we feel if we have no heat."
The student continued, "Professor, does darkness exist?"
The professor responded, "Of course it does."
The student replied, "Once again you are wrong sir. Darkness does not exist either.
Darkness is in reality the absence of light. Light we can study, but not darkness.
In fact we can use Newton's prism to break white light into many colors and study
the various wavelengths of each color. You cannot measure darkness.
A simple ray of light can break into a world of darkness and illuminate it.
How can you know how dark a certain space is? You measure the amount of light present.
Isn't this correct?
Darkness is a term used by man to describe what happens when there is no light present."
Finally the young man asked the professor, "Sir, does evil exist?"
Now uncertain, the professor responded,
"Of course, as I have already said. We see it every day.
It is in the daily example of man's inhumanity to man.
It is in the multitude of crime and violence everywhere in the world.
These manifestations are nothing else but evil."
To this the student replied,
"Evil does not exist sir, or at least it does not exist unto itself.
Evil is simply the absence of God.
It is just like darkness and cold, a word that man has created to describe the absence of God.
God did not create evil.
Evil is the result of what happens when man does not have God's love present in his heart.
It's like the cold that comes when there is no heat or the darkness that comes when there is no light."
The professor sat down.
The young man's name --- Albert Einstein.
Note:
I got this article from the internet long time ago.
I tried adding background and keeping each line short, using HTML codes.

Entry for October 11, 2006 -- Value of A Woman
Value of A Woman
Be careful not to make a woman cry, because God would count her tears.
A woman came out of a man's rib.
Not from his feet to be walked on,
not from his head to be superior over,
but from his side to be equal,
and under the arm to be protected
and next to the heart to be loved.
My special thanks to Haji Maryam.
She currently lives in Kurdistan, Iraq.
