============================
Due to the flood situation in Thailand, many people were forced to live on the 2nd floor of their own homes without access to electricity and clean water. This results in unhygienic ways of disposing everyday's waste. Using biodegradable waste bags that have been widely used in many areas of Africa is one of the good options. It is environmental friendly way to prevent infection and maintain certa in level of hygiene in the time of crisis.

"Jad-Nak" bag was originated by a small group of "we don't know each other" people in Facebook since Monday 17 Oct 2011. By Tuesday, we found friend that own a factory with biodegradable materials who could manufacture the bags for us. By Thursday, we got Ploy and Ton from faculty of Architecture, Chulalongkorn university to design the usage graphics on the bag. Now on Friday, all the manufacturing is completed. The whole process was conducted by people who barely know each other before, people who put in both money and labour we could find at the time. As the project could be beneficial to majority of people suffering from the biggest flood crisis in 50 years, we aspire to manufacture more of these bags and hopefully we can distribute them to those in need asap.

To do so, we need your help and support. Please help spreading the news about Jad-Nak bag as well as making some donation via the info below. If you are major corporation who could support the project, we would love to hear from you via our number 08x-xxx-xxxx

Thank you so much for your help. We hope our contribution could become a small part in helping everyone suffering from the crisis.

Stay safe and dry

Oct22Korean.png - Oct 22: Korean-like sounds in a conversation about the flood situations - page gone

Remarks (added a year later in Nov-2012 ):
The above are flood time chats (in Thai) with the sounds that resemble some Korean names. They went viral in the social media:

jom-yang-gae   – You sunk yet?
mueng-jom-yang   – You sunk yet? (Same meaning as the above.)
yang-gae-la   – No, how 'bout you?
lun-jang-guu  – Fingers crossed.
guu-yang-jom   – Me still sunk.
loi-yang-mee   – Some float.
poo-yang-meun  – Poo (Our PM's nickname) still stunned.

"We cannot block the water forever!" Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra told reporters, in the biggest test so far of her fledgling administration. "The longer we block the water the higher it gets. We need areas that water can be drained through so the water can flow out to the sea."

Oct25plans.png - Oct 25: PM's Plans - shared from Y.Shinawatra's FB

Remarks:
My English translation written in Nov-2012,
which was more than a year after the mega floodings:

===============
PM's drainage plans:
1. For water from Pathum Thani and Nonthaburi into Bang Kruai and Bang Plad: Direct it down Mahasawat Canal => Chao Praya River => Gulf of Thailand. The water in these areas will be 0.5 meters high.
2. Close the watergate at Klong Prem so that water does not enter Don Muang, Lak Si, Sai Mai, Bang Sue, Bang Khen, Phaholyothin, etc.
Will speed up drainage from Khlong Rangsit to Lower Khlong Hok Canal. If this works and if no more flood walls collapse then the water will not be more than 0.5 meters high.
3. Min buri, Nong chok, and Lat Krabang districts will receive water from Rapeepat Canal => Lower Khlong Hok Canal => Saen Sab Canal => Gulf of Thailand. Water in these areas will be 1 - 1.5 meters high.
===============

* I cannot remember if the plans worked well....
