Struggles, etc.

Earthquake and Tsunami / Where are my shoes?
Have finally finished reading the very entertaining 700-page translated BOOK of a "fiction" based on tons of historical documents (many were in French) about how some foreigners came to power (and lost it) in the last years of King Narai in Siam or Thailand some 300 years ago. Could not help comparing the power struggle pattern in these two different periods of time: in King Narai's era ( which was about the time that Louis XIV reigned in France) and in modern days! There are more for me to read...
Have finally finished tag-adding and css-correcting for the DCRS new issue of Newsletter. It was fun doing the html, but it was sad knowing that some children were held in detention so mercilessly even in the "developed" country simply because their parents took them there where they might never be allowed to be there.
Was aware that there were tsunami and huge earthquakes.
So glad Tammy and family in Okinawa are OK! And I hope Eamon and family in Chile are safe!
I also have heard that there were suicidal bombings and unintentional killings, and political bashing in many forms, whether in claiming, complaining, or sabotaging in various methods.... Am not here to discuss them further right now, as I have known only from what the media was allowed to present and interpret. Besides, I have too many articles on my list to read - and to enjoy!
Below is what I wrote on Sunday morning (Feb-28-2010, which happened to be the Buddhist Lent Day, or Makha Bucha Day, the full moon day of the third lunar month).
It is not a poem.
Please feel free to analyze....
Feb-28-2010 (Sun)
This morning I woke up after a strange dream.
Was with my family in a shopping mall. We entered one of the shops.
Had to take off our shoes before entering the shop that looked like McDonald's.
Could not remember what we did. Did we eat or did we buy anything?
Came out when the shops were closing.
Could not find my sneakers on the racks.
Others all found their shoes.
They put on the shoes and were ready to leave.
They went to the parking lot.
I kept looking for my shoes.
Spent lots of time. Going to other racks in front of other shops.
In vain.
None of the shoes or slippers were mine. Oh well...
Decided to grab a pair from the racks and put them on.
I had to go to our car.
Problem is, I did not know where the parking lot was.
Worse, I had no cellphone with me.
Great.....
Must find some way to get back home by myself then.
Gawd! What I had brought with me turned out to be an empty plastic bag and not my black leather bag.
Which means, my money, my cards, my keys... were NOT with me!
Had no other choice: MUST go home by taxi.
Hopefully there would be someone at home to open the door for me and to pay the taxi fare!
I looked for a taxi. The street was so narrow.
There was some digging going on in the middle of that narrow street.
A few people were either waiting for a bus or for taxis.
One taxi came .....but turned back suddenly.
When it made the 180-degree turn I saw that it was a super short car.
No wonder it could make a very smooth and fast turn in such a narrow lane.
There were no passengers in that taxi.
There was no way to get the driver to change his mind, either.
I wonder why he turned back so abruptly.
I looked towards that direction.
It was a dead end! No wonder!
A strange bus came. No "walls", no doors. Strange seats. Two rows were dark-red and two more were grayish black.
I got on the bus. So did other people.
The bus went INSIDE the building! Was going up the slope.
Turned out it was the bus that took the people to the amusement "park" on top of the shopping complex.
Ghost house or something.
I had better get off before it went too far up.
I came out of the building.
Went past the shops that were about to close.
Looked for my shoes. Found none that resembled mine.
Decided to wear the pair that I had thought I wanted to just borrow before I found mine.
Walked towards the street to the right of the building.
It was another narrow street.
The back was a huge amusement complex.
I had never seen this building before.
Since when had it been there?!
Beyond that were paddy fields and farther back were the mountains.
On the other direction of the street there were nothing but two-storey townhouses. Old townhouses.
But I thought I did see a shiny skyscraper at the far back.
Where am I?
And where are my shoes?
Where are the rest?
And I have no money!
Where are the taxis?
Will there be anyone at home to open the door for me....?
What should I do....?
......
All of a sudden I decided to stop all this thinking and wandering....
That was the time when I woke up.
I saw my leather bag on the sofa near my bed.
My money, my cards, and my keys are in there.
So relieved it was just another weird dream.
Better check if my sneakers are where they should be...!!!!!!
THE END....
Time to get a cup of coffee!
