I am reading this book:
"POUR LA PLUS GRANDE GLOIRE DE DIEU"
by Morgan Sportes
Remarks:
This was originally posted at my MTP on February 4, 2010. (journal/item/384)
Ever since my family and I visited Upper Isan (see my earlier blogs)
I became interested in the Thai history regarding Siam, Vietnam, and Indochina.
Back in my school days long, long, long time ago (mostly in Taiwan and Japan), this was hardly mentioned in my history classes or textbooks.
Two weeks ago when I found this book I did not hesitate to buy it. The book is a "fiction" but based a lot on historical documents.
The author, Morgan Sportes, did a very intensive research before he came up with the novel.
The Thai translation is superb - so natural that I do not feel I am reading a translated book.
I tried searching on the internet for the reviews but found none in English.
This one is in French:

(I can only read the one in Thai. Je ne comprends pas le français.)
If any, I wish the book were of lighter weight. It is more than 700 pages and is a lot bigger than a pocket book. HEAVY....
(Good weight training? LOL. Maybe it is time to consider Ipad.)
The book is FASCINATING. I feel like watching a good movie.
