Goodbye, Grandma Sunan
Getting in touch with my family on Facebook
Written on September 2, 2010
(* Moved to neocities.org in Nov 2019 )
On the 20th while I was sending out the news of Grandma
to my nieces, nephews, and the relatives who lived faraway,
I was told to contact some on Facebook.
This made me re-visit my Facebook site.
I was surprised to know that almost everyone related to my family had an FB account!
It was good to be able to get in touch with them again.
One niece reposted the First day of Funeral that I wrote.
She got some comments and questions.
I was asked to answer these.
See the screenshot below.
Since most have FB I therefore posted my updates in their FB.
It was good to know that the arrangements had been made in America.
The nieces and nephews that were just little kids
when I first met them so long ago have all grown up!
Coincidences always took place at the time when our beloved passed away.
We had witnessed strange happenings during my father-in-law's funeral some twenty years ago,
and now a few of us were hearing or experiencing something "strange" again this time.
One niece heard about what happened to her mom and was so scared.
Her mom is Grandma's second daughter.
My husband said Grandma "must have visited T's mom,"
and Grandma "must have been worried about her younger daughter
who always lives so far away from her parents."
There is a saying in Thai: Even if we disbelieve we should not disdain. ("Mai-chuah yaah lob-looh.")
I am not sure if I believe or not but the story was too spooky....!
Actually before this we already experienced a lot of coincidences. Thanks to Grandma, so far all was good.
I will write about these soon.

Sad news. Very sad:
This is too sad!
My deepest condolences....!
Another story...
Here is what I just heard from N, one of my brother-in-laws, who is Grandma's youngest child:
N said he often visited Grandma at the hospital in the afternoons. On that day, August 20th, he was also there with her for a few hours. Usually he would massage Grandma but that day she pushed his hands away, as if to tell him there was no need anymore to massage. N was taken aback even further when he noticed the long stare and the tears on Grandma's face. Everyone in the family knows that Grandma worries about her youngest son the most....
That afternoon for some reason N switched off his mobile, which was something he rarely does.
I remember I and others in the family could not get to N that night to tell him the news of Grandma!
He therefore went to bed without hearing this news.
That night N dreamed that someone knocked on his door. When he opened it he saw Grandma in blue outfit with a suitcase, telling him she was coming to live with him. Grandma looked healthy, N said. He had not dreamed of Grandma that way before.
Maybe the dream had made N realize that Grandma was no more, he therefore did not sound very surprised on the phone when I passed him the news in the morning.
Had he left his mobile on he could have been too sad or emotionally uncontrolled as he was very attached to Grandma.
Just another coincidences? But they happened too often! And what timings!
Do you believe in the souls?
I will add more stories to this page!
I somehow can tell there will be more!

Remarks written on June-25-2011:
"Lao-E 6" (Grandma's youngest sister),
who lived in Chiang mai with "Lao-E 5", passed away around Christmas.
We went up north and visited the other one...
Sadly, "Lao-E 5" also passed away about two weeks after the New Year of 2011.
RIP....
